Doreen Hardiman, utilizes positive reinforcement, fear and intimidation free science-based training techniques for both dogs and people! Doreen is certified by the Animal Behavior College earning High Honors, is a licensed Family Paws Parent Educator, a Certified Trick Dog trainer through Do More with Your Dog, a Certified Service Dog Coach through Cooperative Paws, a Tester/Observer for Alliance of Therapy Dogs, an evaluator for the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test and is a certified trainer to teach humans in pet CPR/First Aid through Pet Tech.
Doreen also holds current memberships with the Pet Professional Guild (PPG) and the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT).
Doreen, a dedicated mentor for the Animal Behavior College, ensures that new trainers receives the most up-to-date training techniques. Beyond her mentoring duties, Doreen goes the extra mile to ensure that each student comprehensively understands all aspects of being a dog trainer.
In addition to mentoring, Doreen plays a pivotal role in shaping the curriculum for all group classes and programs. Her approach revolves around positive reinforcement, employing fear and intimidation-free, science-based training techniques for both dogs and their owners. Doreen finds particular joy in assisting first-time dog owners AND new puppy parents, emphasizing mutual respect and teamwork to enhance the understanding between dogs and their human companions.
Doreen has been married for 39 years, has 2 grown children and 5 dogs. Doreen has a big heart for fearful dogs and has rescued two! Doreen does not have grandchildren, but she has a lot of granddogs!!
Paula Kim has been an assistant Dog trainer with K-9 Kudos for over four years. Paula’s certified therapy dog and Canine Good Citizen title holder, Ruby, is not just a furry companion but a shining example of obedience and charm. As a Tester/Observer for the Alliance of Therapy dogs, Paula ensures that therapy dog teams meet the highest standards of excellence. Her commitment to the well-being of both dogs and humans is evident. She has tested many dogs that have went on to be wonderful therapy dogs. Paula also co-teaches K-9 Kudos’ Therapy Dog Prep class. She is married and has three kids and three grandkids! Paula manages a dental office and Ruby goes with her daily to spreading comfort and joy to patients and staff!
K-9 Kudos is a place where we set you up for success. Not only do we teach you and your dog, we teach you how to learn together as a team. You’re creating an everlasting bond with your dog while you train. Think of it as team building, each of you learning how the other learns best. We understand the relationships with our canine partners, and we help to build up both dogs AND handlers. We teach humans to read their dog’s body language, so they understand and correct their behaviors in a positive way! We help dogs to better adjust to and perform what is asked of them.
Building a community of people to support, encourage, share experiences, and welcome those interested in building a better relationship with their dog. We strive to create a welcoming, supportive facility for all dogs and their two-legged companions. We understand that it is a big decision to join a training facility, especially if you are new to the training community. Our facility, staff, and clients walk into every relationship with consideration, compassion, and focus to better one another in all aspects of teaching, learning, growing as a team, or socializing together.
Education is crucial at K-9 Kudos. Training is continually changing and evolving. In the last few decades the science behind canine behavior has taken off and expanded, and there has been an explosion of new knowledge available to each of us on multiple levels of social media, good and bad.
