Therapy Dog Teams

Our Therapy Dog Teams are ready to brighten your day! Whether it’s an event, school, hospital, nursing home, assisted living facility, or beyond, we bring comfort and joy to any setting.

At K-9 Kudos, we proudly support the Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD), providing therapy in diverse environments such as airports, rehabilitation centers, mental health facilities, cancer centers, hospice care, college campuses, and more.

Every ATD-certified dog is friendly, well-mannered, and loves spreading four-legged love, fluff, and soaking up all the ear scratches they can get!

Stop the 77

Dog bite prevention is crucial, especially with 50% of children bitten by age 12 and 77% of bites coming from family or friends’ dogs. That’s why K-9 Kudos proudly offers the “Stop the 77” program—a dog safety initiative for preschool and elementary-aged children in the Derby community and surrounding school districts.

Through programs like I Speak Doggie and Dog Stars, we teach kids how to safely interact with dogs, whether they own one or not, helping reduce these staggering statistics and fostering safer relationships between kids and dogs.

"I Speak Doggie" Program

Our I Speak Doggie program is designed for preschool-aged children, bringing fun and energy to teach the youngest members of our community the best ways to interact with dogs. Led by Doreen, the program helps reduce stress and prevent bites by encouraging safe behavior around dogs. “The program is really entertaining for the kids!” says Doreen. “They also get to practice petting a dog the right way, which makes them feel more comfortable and empowered.”

In just 40 minutes, I Speak Doggie uses a catchy music video to teach essential dog safety, ensuring that kids—and even teachers—keep singing about safety long after the session ends!

"Dog Stars" Program

“The program is simple yet comprehensive and really entertaining for the kids!” says Doreen. “They get to watch videos, play games, and take home colorful handouts that help educate their parents too.” The Dog Stars program is tailored for elementary school-aged kids, bringing fun and energy to teaching kids how to safely interact with dogs.

By focusing on respect and understanding, Dog Stars aims to reduce stress in dogs and prevent bites. In just 30-40 minutes, kids learn vital dog safety through interactive games and catchy music videos—leaving them singing about dog safety long after the session is over!
